U/13 Football Tournament (Girls)...

Once again our team of footballers from the Junior 4, 5 and 6 have done it!!! For the fourth time this scholastic year, our girls' team placed first in the Primary Schools' Festival Football Tournament. 

Well done girls for honouring once more our School with victory!

U/12 Football Tournament (Boys)...

Our team of boys from the Junior 6 and Senior 1 placed third in the U/12 Boys Football Tournament which was held on 6th May at St.Edward's College.

MSSF Table Tennis Tournament...

Another success for our students was the MSSF Table Tennis Tournament, during which two of our School representatives, namely Giulia Micallef and Clarissa Cauchi (both in Senior 1), won the tournament for the Under 13 Girls' Section!

Hip hip hooray! Well done to our girls!

U/13 Football Tournament (Girls)...

Once again our young footballers have done it!!! Our team of girls from the Junior 4, 5 and 6 have won the Primary Schools' Festival Football Tournament against 7 teams from other independent and state schools.  It was a joy to welcome them back after they played admirably well as a team!!  This is the third tournament out of four, and our team placed first in the first three tournaments.

May we congratulate these students who once again honoured the name of our School with victory.

U/13 Football Tournament (Girls)...

On the 14th January 2011, eleven students from our Senior 1 and 2 took part in an U/13 Girls Football Tournament held at San Anton School.  Six Schools competed in this tournament.

Our girls' performance was excellent!  They played really well and had a great time in a friendly environment.  They managed to win four games and draw one to place in top position.  A big well done goes to all the girls and their teacher Ms. Natasha Pace.

Forms 3/4/5 Volleyball Tournament (Girls)...

For the second year running, the MVA (Malta Volleyball Association) is organising 4 days of competitions, two for the Senior 3, 4 and 5 and two for the Senior 1 and 2 at the Cottonera Sports Complex.

On the 14th December 2010 the first group of girls from our Senior 4 took part in the first tournament finishing in 3rd place out  of 6 schools.  They all had a lot of fun and showed a good level in the game.  We wish them good luck in the other tournament.

Cross-Country...

On the 7th of December 2010 a number of our Senior students took part in the Cross Country events organized by the Athletics Malta.  They were amongst no fewer than 346 students coming from 25 different schools. 

St. Catherine’s won two prizes by placing third in both the team races for the senior schools.  

Well done to our athletes!

Easter U/11 Football Festival (Girls)...

Another Girls U/11 Football Festival was organised at Ta' Qali.  Our School was represented by the following team: Jenny Vella, Giulia Micallef, Rebecca Zammit, Jessica Muscat, Katryn Ellul, Jodie Arpa, Jessica Pisani, Andrea Farrugia and Mariah Sciberras (Junior 5 and Junior 6).

The team played 4 games of which 3 were won and 1 finished in a draw:
          St. Catherine's vs Tarxien.....1 - 1
          St. Catherine's vs Lija.....2 - 0
          St. Catherine's vs Xaghra.....3 - 0
          St. Catherine's vs Mgarr.....7 - 0

In the end our team and Tarxien finished up with 10 points each, but because of goal difference St. Catherine's team took 1st place.  Top scorer of our team was Katryn Ellul with 7 goals!

Well done to all the players! Keep it up!

Primary U/11 Girls Football Festival....

On Thursday 11th March 2010, two U/11 Girls Football Teams from St. Catherine’s School accompanied by Mr. Michael Saliba and Mrs. Josette Zammit, took part in a Football Festival for Primary Children, Held at San Anton School.  This was the first of its kind.  Although the weather looked cloudy and rainy at first, postponing the beginning of the tournament by half an hour, blue skies and a warm sun soon replaced the rain, helping to make the morning a very enjoyable one for all.  After playing four games each, both teams finished in top positions in their respective groups.

The Yellow Team, consisting of Kathryn Ellul, Giulia Micallef, Mariah Sciberras, Jessica Pisani, Andrea Farrugia, Jenny Vella and Nicole Bonnett, won all their games finishing with maximum points.

The Blue Team, consisting of Jodie Arpa, Nicole Caruana, Jessica Muscat, Rebecca Zammit, Francesca Psaila, Rachel Micallef, Pia Agius, Sarah Gatt and Giannella Vella, won 3 games and drew 1, finishing also top of their group.

A big well done to all the girls who participated!

Boys U/13 Football Touranment....

This under 11 team took represented St. Catherine's in an under 13 tournament held at St. Edwards.  Ms. Natasha commented "Although they lost all their matches many teachers/coaches praised their attitude and were impressed by a couple of players. (The other teams were mainly made up of Senior 2s and 3s and many were even taller and bigger than me!"

Well done boys for setting a good example in sports.

Girls' Christmas Festival at the Centenary Stadium....

Aware of the importance of promoting football for girls at a tender age, the MFA Women's section organised a Christmas Festival on Monday 28 December for two categories of girls, the U/11 and U/13.

St. Catherine's High School's team showed hard work and enthusiasm and managed to place in the top position in the Under 11 category after winning all keenly-contested matches against the other four contestants: 3-2 against Hibernians, 4-0 against Mgarr, 3-1 against Xaghra, and 2-0 against Tarxien.  

We take this opportunity to congratulate our winning team, and their coach Ms. Natasha, which once again brought prestige to the name of the School.  Well done girls!
