St. Catherine's High School....since 1909

Lejla Maltija

Lejla Maltija

MERHBA (WELCOME)

This scholastic year is a significant time for all of us at St. Catherine’s High School as it marks its one hundredth birthday and celebrates the good work that it has been doing since its inception, in the personal, social and, above all, educational development of its students...and touching the lives of many who have been, or still are, students, employees, parents or any combination of these.

The Lejla Maltija, held on 30th April, was one of the celebrations being organised to commemorate this centenary and a programme was specifically designed to meet the interests of all, be it cultural, artistic, musical, recreational, culinary, or simply to enjoy a friendly and relaxing environment.

We take this opportunity to thank all the students, parents, staff, and volunteers who helped in the organisation and realization of this Lejla Maltija.

We would also like to thank the organising committee for their hard work, namely Edmond Grech, Anthea Gatt, Eleanor Vella Mintoff, Karen Abela, Frans and Mary Grech, Lee Garrovillo and Brian Gauci.

Finally our heartfelt appreciation goes to our two Centenary Platinum Sponsors: Pace’s and Xuereb Installations Ltd.

MEMORJI SBIEH (BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES)

From the feedback received we are proud to say that the Lejla Maltija was a success, notwithstanding the unforeseen problems we encountered.  It was a real family celebration; a feast of colours and enthusiasm, a variety of cultural, artisan, artistic, and musical talents, an assortment of culinary delicatessen, and a recreational, friendly and relaxing environment.

We take this opportunity to thank all the students, parents, teachers and child carers, and volunteers who helped in the organisation and realization of this Lejla Maltija, especially the teachers/child carers and the students who organised the class activities.   A big thank you goes also to the many family members who responded to the invitation and honoured us with their presence.  We are really impressed with the huge turnout of parents, family members and friends who came on the day.
